The Trolley Dances are a San Francisco site-specific performance project created by Kim Epifano.
Now in its ninth year, SF TROLLEY DANCES has become a staple of San Francisco’s fall arts line-up. Winner of SF Weekly’s award for Best Transit Ballet, TROLLEY DANCES 2012 offers families, dance-lovers, visitors and residents alike the opportunity to see some of the Bay Area’s finest dance companies performing site-specific work in surprising and spectacular venues.
This year’s performers include The Carpetbag Brigade, whose stilt-walking and lively physical theater delight audiences around the globe with live music by accordionist/composer Diana Strong; the acclaimed Campo Santo in collaboration with dance company Mix’d Ingrdnts, and accompanied by live music; the “roof-raising” Diamano Coura West African Dance Company; Anne Bluethenthal and Dancers, Alleluia Panis Dance Theatre; and Epiphany Productions Sonic Dance Theater; and others.
