The Carpetbag Brigade Physical Theater offers custom-designed community performance projects in which we share our performance techniques and skills to strengthen the capacity of local students and/or professionals to create dynamic ensemble work together. Community projects can be as simple as a two week intensive workshop leading to a performance presentation to a two year project with repeat visits excavating local history and issues as material for the performance. The Community projects can be oriented in two distinct directions; technique expansion and environmental exploration. Our community projects are designed to function as cross cultural exchanges in which our vocabulary of performance is used as a tool to create common experiences that can transcend cultural backgrounds in terms of race, class, and heritage.
